Remembrance

Today we remember those who have given much. This Memorial day seems more poignant than others to me. So many are giving so much right now, and those of us who aren’t on the front lines are thankful. We showed our thankfulness by staying home. I went out and played Taps at 3:00 for the Taps Across America event. So many neighbors came out and stood on their front steps. It was very meaningful! It was nice to be able to honor those who have served. I think of my grandfather, Kenneth Hood (Navy), my uncle, Nigel Hood (Navy), and so many former students, but especially Christian Skoglund who lost his life in service.

Sorry I don’t have service photos!

Wren’s hymn of comfort tonight is O God Our Help in Ages Past. We hope you enjoy, and we hope you will join with us in honoring all of those who have served in the military and those who continue to serve us in fighting the pandemic. Show them your appreciation by staying home, wearing masks, and washing hands!!

Oh WOW!! What a remembrance! Thank you. Thank you, Wren, for the beautiful hymn, too. This is a perfect way to remember.
